Feb 19th 2012, 18:35

Jeremy Lin is the New Superstar of NBA. He is playing for Knicks. Using Offensive writing against Jeremy Lin in the mobile version of ESPN sports, an employee of ESPN got fired. ESPN apologies for offensive headline against Knicks Jeremy Lin. ESPN also said that there were 2 more same offensive words used. They also suspended an anchor that used same phrase ethnic slur.

Jeremy Lin

The headline Read "Chink In the armor," Which is referencing the New York Knicks' 89-85 loss Friday night to the New Orleans Hornets. A loss against the New Orleans ended the team's season high winning streak.
The phrase used in the headline has two meaning: One is ethnic slur and other is: The unlikely star of Taiwanese "Jeremy Lin" descent quickly turned into a global brand and "Linsanity" became the phrase of the times.

After Losing the match against New Orleans

They also apologized for a question ESPN anchor Max Bretos asked Wednesday night. "If there is a chink in the armor, where can Jeremy Lin improved game???? There were also derogatory word used by radio employee that's why ESPN can't do anything with him.

"We again apologize, especially to Mr. Lin, "ESPN said. "His accomplishments are a source of great pride to the Asian-American community, including the Asia-American employees at ESPN.

"Through self-examination, improved editorial practices and controls, and response to constructive criticism we will be better in the future" ESPN said.

The reports published in the headline was dismissed. Breto is suspended for 30 days. But the main this is that the damage is already happened. We hope that "World Leader in Sports" ESPN won't do this kind of mistakes again.

Best of luck to Jeremy Lin for his next matches & we hope his team will come back in the next match.
